2009 Mustang Classic Golf Tournament Highlights

1st Place: HomeTrust Bank Team

The 2009 Mustang Classic was held at Cummings Cove Golf and Country Club on Friday, September 18th. Though the forecast was unpromising, the day turned out to be cool and partly sunny--perfect for a round of golf.  After lunch, 52 players took to the course for a exhilarating afternoon of play.  The HomeTrust Bank Team (Joe McGuire, Esther Jillson, Stacie Hicks, and Steve Jennings) finished first, followed by the Carolina Ace Hardware Team (Greg Paul, Jeremy Paul, Dave Burlett, and Jerry Bleckley), and the Brantley Builders Team (Headmaster Greg Mosely, Rachael Nicholls, Kevin Nicholls, and Brian Hart). 

Although golf tournaments in general have suffered losses this year, the Mustang Classic held its own and raised approximately $6,500.  Proceeds from the tournament will be invested in teachers' resources, athletics, fine arts, and tuition assistance.
