Parent Testimonials "HCS a blessing and an answer to prayer. We first looked at the school four years ago when our daughter Brieanna was experiencing a very disappointing year at the public middle school she was attending. Not only was she struggling academically, she was also being exposed to things that we did not face until high school. We were also looking for a smaller school for our son Ross, who has special needs. We wanted our children to not just survive, but to thrive. At HCS, both Brieanna and Ross have done just that. We are amazed at how the older kids look out for the younger ones, and what a positive, family atmosphere there is here. Not only are the kids getting an outstanding education, they are building a strong spiritual foundation.” Tim & Tammy McCall
"Our son struggled academically in math, reading, and phonics. After numerous teacher conferences at a prior school and professional testing, we received an invaluable referral to HCS and the Discovery Center P.A.S.S. Program. The program's excellent instructors have given our son his self confidence and academic success back. This program has strengthened his foundation for his entire academic journey. Thank you HCS for providing superior education."
Ed & Tina Brinson "We would like to thank the staff members who helped our son with the Orton program (part of the P.A.S.S. program) this year. Since he first started working with you, he has made great progress. He has gone from a boy who would get very frustrated with himself to a boy who actually enjoys reading. It is a load off our hearts, as this was something we could not help him with. Everything we tried before didn't work, but the Orton program is wonderful. Thank you for your continued help." Jeff & Shanna Stepp "Tears. Anger. Frustration. More tears! I had been attempting to homeschool our sixteen-year-old son Stephen for years with little progress. Our personalities just clashed. We butted heads constantly. What to do? Finally, we decided to have Stephen tested by HCS--where we had ties through the sports program--to see if there was a chance he would be accepted. His results indicated that his main problem was language processing. Language processing! Everything has to do with language processing. The staff assured us that they could work with Stephen. We decided to enroll him in HCS and the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) program. Stephen worked one-on-one four class periods a week with a trained educational therapist. She patiently encouraged him as they worked their way through a program of exercises designed to stimulate and train different areas of the brain. The therapist also devised a list of accommodations that was given to the teachers to help them know how to best work with Stephen. Stephen is now mostly an “A” student with a few “B's” thrown in, and the obvious improvement in his written assignments is a testimony to the effectiveness of the NILD program. We could not be more pleased. Thank you, HCS and your dedicated staff!" Greg & Cindy St. Jacques |
